I have worked across a range of businesses and sectors, including software, manufacturing, hospitality, property and financial services, in both owner-managed and private equity-backed environments.
I've worked through growth, change, acquisitions, systems transformation and the everyday challenges of leading a finance function. I've built teams, improved reporting, developed financial models and worked closely with boards and leadership teams.
I understand the expectations that come with external stakeholders, having worked with banks, private equity investors, lenders, auditors and other professional advisors.
I also understand the pressures that come with growing businesses — where the founder or leadership team needs better visibility of what is happening financially, but does not necessarily have the time or internal resource to build that capability themselves.
That experience is what I bring to Insight FD.
I am a qualified accountant and Fellow of the ACCA (FCCA), as well as holding MAAT (Accounting Technician) status and an MBA from the University of Liverpool.
At Insight FD, our approach is straightforward: understand the business, understand the numbers, ask the right questions and turn financial information into something useful.
We believe that Finance should be a commercial partner to the business — helping people make better decisions rather than simply telling them what happened last month.
When I'm not working with businesses, you'll probably find me attempting to convince myself that golf is relaxing!
